Frascati, Italy: A critical Earth Environment observing satellite have lost the contact with its controllers.Sources saying that there are minor chances to restore the contact with satellite.The new satellite for the replacement needs more than one year, which is very significant gap for the scientist to collect data.
The name of the satellite is "Envisat", which launced by the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2002. The Satellite instruments used to supply data on environmental factors such as air qulaity and oil spills.
But the day when 8th April comes, the ground controllers and the satellite have lost the contact with each other.Mission manager of ESA says that the team is searching for the failure but it may be the chances of power failure in the communication system.The ground team constantly monitoring the satellite to reconfigure the link.
The life of the satellite is 10 years old, but designed to operate for only 5 years lifespan. Laur says that the chances of the restoration is very minor but we continue till the end of the hope.
